Lovely stay - would definitely recommend/return!
Brantfell House was very clean and very comfortable. The room is cosy but big enough for a couple with a large suitcase. The hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly, providing local recommendations and banter. They offer a packed lunch for a reasonable price if you're going hiking, and the breakfast was home cooked and yum. I really liked some of the tiny thoughtful touches, like providing a dark coloured face washer specifically labelled "Makeup Remover". There was lots of thought put into the stay here!

Amazing stay in the Lake District
We had an amazing 3 night stay in the Lake District at Brantfell House. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly providing plenty of helpful information during our stay as well as delicious breakfasts. One excellent bonus was the bag lunches they prepared for us for a small fee. These were excellent during our exploration of the lake district saving us the time (and considerable expense) of finding restaurants for lunch. Our room was quite comfortable and nicely decorated. Brantfell house was well located and in easy walking distance to many restaurants and pubs in Ambleside.

We highly recommend Brantfell House if you're in Ambleside. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the water pressure great. The breakfasts were very good - from cold choices like fruit and yogurt to traditional hot breakfasts. Adie and Mandy were friendly and helpful. A perfect site for doing beautiful walks in the area.

We loved our stay at Brantfell House. Adie and Mandy made us feel super welcome from the moment we stepped into the apartment. Adie is super knowledgeable about the area and gives good tips for things to do, while Mandy whips up delicious breakfasts. The room is spacious and great too. Highly recommended and we hope to be back soon!

Fantastic short break.
We had a fantastic 5 night stay. The location in Ambleside is perfect, as it’s only a short walk into town with plenty of choices to eat and drink. There are some fantastic walks straight from the house, or an easy drive. Mandy and Ade are brilliant hosts - the breakfasts are superb and you can’t beat local knowledge for walks, or food and drink. We’ll definitely be back!

Stay Brantfell House July 2022
I am a Gold Member at Hotels.com & never leave reviews on the many hotels I stay at across Europe each week. However I just felt I had to give Brantfell House a glowing report for other travellers thinking of visiting this wonderful small hotel/guest house. From the minute we arrived for my first vacation in a year the hosts Mandy and Adi made us so welcome with free parking pass at several car parks across the region an added bonus. The bedroom was to a very high standard in cleanliness and facilities plus the bathroom was exceptionally clean with a great power shower too. Breakfasts were brilliant and kept us going all day until dinner time. I would thoroughly recommend Brantfell House to couples, groups or individuals, you won’t be disappointed.

A lovely comfortable stay at Brantfell House, super clean and I loved the attention to detail re the beautiful decor. The breakfasts were superb as was the packed lunch! Would certainly recommend here to stay as it was also in a central location in Ambleside.

Would happily return
Hosts Mandy and Aidie couldn't do more for us, very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts very good - thoroughly recommend the omelette! Room compact but comfortable. Although we didn't have a good view from our room, the view from breakfast room lovely. Good location for restaurants, shops, buses and ferry.

The Best
Upon arrival we received a very warm welcome from both Adie and Mandy. Our room was absolutely perfect, the service was perfect and the breakfasts were incredible! It was a true pleasure to stay with them, so much so that we know when we return to Ambleside, we won't hesitate to stay at Brantfell again. Great stay in Ambleside
Lovely 4 night break in this super clean and comfortable b&b in the perfect location in beautiful Ambleside. Room was great with a comfortable bed, good WiFi and super powerful shower. Excellent breakfast. Parking was free and easy in the towns car parks using the local business pass handed to us on arrival. The hosts, Mandy and Aidie were extremely friendly and welcoming. If you are thinking of visiting the lakes, we can wholeheartedly recommend Brantfell as a great place to stay.

Perfect Hosts
We had a fantastic stay with Mandy and Aide at Brantfell who are, quite simply, perfect hosts. We were made to feel welcome from the very start and soon felt "part of the family". They have an extensive knowledge of the town and surrounding areas and are very helpful if you're looking for some advice for sightseeing or a good pub/restaurant. The house is very central to Ambleside so it is very easy to get into the town by walking and you have easy access to all the main roads so that exploring other parts of the Lake District (whether by local transport or self driving) is very simple. The room was very comfortable and had everything you need for a short, relaxing break. Breakfast is more than enough for setting your self up for the day. We look forward to returning to Amblelside and will be sure to book in at Brantfell House again.

2 night stay in ambleside
Our stay at aide and mandy’s guesthouse was fantastic, they are 2 of the kindest people you will meet, offering useful recommendations for all aspects of the local area and even taking our wet clothes for drying after a soggy walk up scafell pike! Room was incredibly comfortable and well equipped. The guesthouse is located just a few minutes walk from the centre of ambleside with a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and shops. We will definitely be staying again.

I had room 6, which was almost at the top of the house and had great views over the hills. The room had its own seating area as well as a really comfy bed and well-equipped shower room. Toiletries were provided and big, fluffy towels. The room was also beautifully decorated. The choice of breakfast was really good as well, I was spoilt for choice.

Outstanding
We stayed for 3 nights and were lucky enough to enjoy a mini-heatwave. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Very good position in the town with restaurants and pubs close by.The owners Aide & Mandy are a great couple, very friendly, full of local knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and will defo stay here again.
