Discover one of the oldest Hanseatic cities in the Netherlands in a surprising and relaxed way. Accompanied by an enthusiastic guide, you will walk through medieval streets, atmospheric courtyards, and past remarkable architecture. Zutphen is compact, green, and incredibly rich in stories — the ideal city to explore.
During opening hours, we will take you inside the impressive Walburgis Church. This also houses the famous Librije: a rare chained library containing books by Copernicus, among others. We will not visit the Librije during the tour, but you can view this unique piece of history yourself later.
We will walk past the Stedelijk Museum and Museum Henriette Polak. The Schelpenkoepeltje is an elegant little structure in the garden and now serves as the entrance to the Museums. A true hidden pearl.
You will walk past the Broederenkerk, a former monastery church, and the courtyards of Zutphen; an oasis of peace and greenery hidden in the city, gardens full of secrets and stories from the past. We wander through the historic center, tell you about the Zaadmarkt & Houtmarkt with De Pelikaan, our own coffee roastery of over 200 years old with a Royal designation!
But we also don't forget the medieval squares, narrow streets, charming merchant houses, and the Berkel ruins. Join us to experience the Zutphen feeling.
