Start your day with a walking tour of Stone Town, the oldest part of Zanzibar City. Explore historical sites, including the slave markets, bustling daily markets, and charming narrow streets. Enjoy some shopping along the way.
Relive the grandeur of this port city as you stroll through the twisting streets and look at former palaces, the Sultan’s Palace, and Arab mansions. Gain insight into the tragic history of the slave trade.
Next, head to Jozani National Park and begin your forest trip to track monkeys and see the jungle. During a guided journey through the jungle, learn about the several monkey species peculiar to Zanzibar, as well as plants and other animals such as elephant shrews.
After your forest tour and a short trip to the other side of the national park, explore the mystical world of Zanzibari mangrove trees. A walk along the wooden trail will reveal thousands of black crabs at work beneath the mangroves, and if you're lucky, you might even hear the mangroves talking.
Finally, head back to the boat for the journey to Nakupenda Sandbank. Once there, step onto the soft, untouched beach and get ready for a picnic lunch. Feast on a delicious spread of local seafood delicacies.
After lunch, make use of the snorkeling equipment to explore the vibrant underwater world surrounding the sandbank. Relax on the sand, sunbathe, or engage in water activities like beach volleyball or paddleboarding. End your day with a return to Stone Town on the boat.
