Begin your day mid-morning when you are collected at your centrally located Chiang Mai hotel for the drive-by open pick-up truck to the Mae Tang area. Part of the journey is by dirt track, adding to that feeling of impending excitement. Before sitting down to your delicious local lunch at Baan Sob Kai, take some time to wander around the area at your leisure.

Then it is time to get down to business as you are fully outfitted with a helmet and life-jacket before stepping into the water. Receive a brief, but appropriate, Safety Talk plus Instructions on how to paddle, how to maneuver your way down the river, and more.

Then begin the exhilarating blast of approximately 2 hours down the best part of the Mae Taeng River. Travel over Class III and Class IV gorges and rapids for 10 km. in a setting of high mountains and green jungle from Sob Kai to Muang Kut village.
