    The ticket price includes one glass of wine (0.1 L) per winemaker and a small savory snack. Participation is subject to the Youth Protection Act (JuSchG), § 9 Alcoholic Beverages, paragraphs (1) and (2). Therefore, the minimum age to participate is 16 years!

What you can expect

  • A professional wine expert, our sommelier Matthias Lothhammer, will guide you through the Darmstadt Wine Festival.

    Experience a wine tasting with selected winemakers from different growing regions on this small wine tour. We will serve savory snacks to accompany the tasting.

    What few know: Wine was cultivated for centuries where the Art Nouveau buildings of the Mathildenhöhe artists' colony stand today. Darmstadt in southern Hesse, today an internationally renowned center for science and art, has been surrounded by vineyards since at least the Middle Ages. The Darmstadt Wine Festival, which has been taking place for over 40 years, is a very special tribute to the wine-growing tradition that is now being revived in the city.

    From Thursday, September 3 to Sunday, September 6, 2026, more than 30 wine and food stands invite you to a culinary stroll,
    taste, enjoy, and linger in Wilhelminenstraße.

    Numerous wineries from Hessian wine-growing regions such as the Bergstraße and the Rheingau, from Rheinhessen and the Palatinate will present their fine wines at the stands. Among them are many family businesses as well as winemakers who specialize in organic viticulture or cultivate special grape varieties.

    Thursday to Saturday: 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
    Sunday: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
