Begin by driving out to several of Wadi Rum’s famed natural and historic sites. Wander through Khazali Canyon with its petroglyphs, pause at Lawrence Spring, where travelers once rested, climb the Red Sand Dune, and explore dramatic formations such as Um Fruth Rock Bridge, the Small Rock Bridge, and Abu Khashaba Canyon.
As you move through these landscapes, your guide will help you identify desert herbs growing along the way — and you’ll gather some yourself to use later.
After exploring the desert, your journey continues with a cup of traditional tea, brewed over an open fire using the very herbs you picked during the tour — an authentic taste of desert life. As you sip, your guide will share stories of Bedouin traditions, desert herb lore, and the old ways of living in harmony with the land.
Then, head to a Bedouin family home for a genuine traditional lunch, prepared the classic way and shared in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Enjoy more tea, connect through conversation, and experience the slow, grounded pace that defines life in the desert. Don’t forget to test your balance: there’s time for sandboarding down soft dunes.
Optional additions include an overnight stay in a traditional Bedouin tent, with breakfast, dinner and stargazing. Meals, tea, and water are served in our cozy shared lounging tent and all guests are welcome for Bedouin games and story telling around the fire pit each night.
