This e-bike loop tour starts from Volterra and offers one of the most “authentic” rides in the area: rolling hills, dirt roads, isolated farms, and uninterrupted views of the ridges. It is a scenic and atmospheric route, perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in rural Tuscany away from traffic, with a mixed surface (quiet paved roads and smooth dirt roads) and rolling hills that are a pleasure to ride on an e-bike.

After the first few kilometers, you enter the open landscape around Volterra, where the view stretches toward Mount Voltraio and the countryside changes color depending on the season. One of the most beautiful moments of the tour is the ride through the Villa Palagione area and, immediately afterward, the arrival at the village of Pignano: a scenic stop, ideal for a break and a few photos, surrounded by hills and picture-postcard dirt roads.

The tour continues towards Ulignano, passing through more open and sunlit countryside, with smooth descents and stretches at higher elevations that offer ever-changing views of the valley. A brief stop outside Villa di Ulignano completes the “historical” part of the route before heading back to Volterra, with the final climb closing the loop and returning to the starting point.
