Hike to the summit of the dormant volcano Mount Liamuiga. As you trek up the mountainside, pass through a lush tropical rainforest and beneath the misty layers of a cloud forest. At the top, admire far-reaching views of the Caribbean island paradise.

You will be picked up at 8:00 am and will have approximately a one-hour drive by 4X4 vehicle to the base of Mount Liamuiga 3,792-foot (1,156-m) volcano on the western part of St. Kitts. Then, a vigorous 2.5-hour hike starts up the mountainside. Along the way, pass giant tropical trees with vines snaking around their branches and an abundance of beautiful flowers. Your guide shares local knowledge of the flora and fauna, as well as secrets about medicinal use passed down through generations.

Before reaching the summit, walk through a dream-like cloud forest and notice how the vegetation changes from tropical to a mossy forest. Enjoy the slight drop in temperature and the misty air characteristic of this forest. At the summit of the dormant volcano, take in views of the entire island and the Caribbean Sea, with neighboring islands in the distance.Your tour guide will set up a light snack at the top.

walk back down to the trail base, where the vehicle is parked is normally faster (2 hours approximately) than the ascent. Refreshments will be provided prior to departing back to your hotel or cruise port. This tour is an exciting adventure and a strenuous hike.
