On this unique and original tour, which I have developed myself, we'll depart from Coimbra by Metrobus (journey time: about 36 minutes) and head to the village of Miranda do Corvo to discover its magnificent boardwalks, as well as the extraordinary Biological Park of Serra da Lousã. The Biological Park is an educational project of national importance, with a significant environmental, cultural and social mission: 1- to protect and conserve the fauna and flora that inhabit or have inhabited Portugal (it currently has 378 species of animals, such as bears, wolves, deer… and trees, such as strawberry trees and chestnut trees), 2- to employ not only people with mental health issues, but also those who are perfectly capable of working.
Tourists will have free time to explore the park and the boardwalks in its complex (which also includes the Living Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts, as well as the craft shop). As well as its boardwalks.
The role of the guide on this tour is essentially to direct and accompany tourists to the sites, occasionally providing brief pieces of informative commentary.
At the end, we return to Coimbra. The estimated duration is 4 hours.
The meeting point is in Coimbra, near the Hotel Astória. We will depart by Metro Bus. A quick (36-minute) and eco-friendly trip where tourists can take in the views.
