There's no better way to enjoy the Azores islands than renting a Kayak to explore the Atlantic Ocean.

Enjoy the freedom of paddling in an open sea along the unique coastline of Vila Franca do Campo, where you can spot the beautiful islet.

Rent it for yourself or bring the family aboard (up to 4). We have single, double and quadruple kayaks. Quadruple kayaks are suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 children (up to 12 years old).

All experience levels are welcome and the equipment is provided for free (vest and paddle). There are 3 kayak rental booking options: 2h, 4h or 6h duration.

The kayaks are safe and comfortable, appropriate for the ocean, therefore difficult to flip in the sea and don't sink.

Please note that this is a kayak rental and not a kayak tour.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON ACCESS TO THE ISLET OF VILA FRANCA DO CAMPO 2025/2026:

• The islet of Vila Franca do Campo is a protected natural reserve that is closed to the public from mid-October to mid-June for environmental conservation reasons.

-However, it is possible to paddle kayaks outside around the islet throughout the year, which is extremely beautiful to see the rock formations and the diverse species that inhabit the islet.

• Until mid-June, the entry of kayaks inside the islet is expressly prohibited, as well as entry on foot or by swimming.

• When the islet is open to the public (mid-June to mid-October), the entry of kayaks inside the islet will only be permitted for those who have purchased the package that includes kayak rental with entry to the islet (other types of additional tickets purchased separately will not be accepted). The simple “kayak rental” reservation does not grant access to the islet, as it is a protected natural area with a daily entry limit.

• In the summer of 2025, the Government of the Azores prohibited swimming inside the islet. We do not yet have information regarding this matter in relation to the summer of 2026.
