Overview

Vendicari nature reserve is one of the most visited reserves in Sicily. It is a complexity of wetlands, with marshes and coastal dunes which offer a perfect spot for the migratory birds to rest. Vendicari offers some of the most beautiful beaches of the Ionian Coast: an unspoilt and crystalline sea. Vendicari offers you more than 7 km of coastline between fine sand and rocky coves. From the main entrance to the Pantano Piccolo ( Little Marsh) The path will conduct us along the wonderful shore of Vendicari, passing by several bird-watching points, coastal marshes and the beach, up to the tuna-fishing buildings ( tonnara Bafuto ), where, if open, we will visit the eco-museum. The visit will continue up to the sight point of Small Marsh, passing by the basins of the "garum". The visit will end with the return to the car park and with the famous granita of Corrado's kiosk.
