What you can expect
Uxmal
Discover the grandeur of Uxmal on an exclusive small-group tour, ideal for enjoying greater comfort and personalized attention. This archaeological gem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most impressive Mayan cities in the Puuc region, renowned for its elegant architecture, intricate stone mosaics, and profound historical significance.
Unlike other archaeological sites, Uxmal stands out for its harmonious design and its symbolism, which is largely dedicated to the rain god Chaac, whose depictions can be seen on numerous façades. During the tour, you will be amazed by the imposing Temple of the Magi, a pyramid that is unique for its oval shape and is shrouded in legend. You will also explore the majestic Quadrangle of the Nuns, an architectural complex rich in symbolism and details that reflect the Mayan worldview.
You will also visit the Governors Palace, considered one of the masterpieces of pre-Hispanic architecture in Mesoamerica. From here, you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the site, perfect for capturing unforgettable photographs.
Typical food
We will continue to a traditional kitchen, where dishes are prepared using recipes and techniques passed down through generations. It's not a luxury restaurant, but that's precisely where its charm lies: authentic flavors, local ingredients, and a completely genuine experience that will connect you with the region's true cuisine.
The traditional lunch is called Salbutes y Panuchos, two of the most popular dishes among the local community. These are soft, slightly puffed tortillas that are filled with beans before being fried, giving them a unique and delicious flavor.
Cenotes
The Puuc region is also home to numerous cenotes, true natural treasures of the peninsula. During the tour, we will visit two rural or community cenotes, managed by the local residents themselves, who protect and share these unique spaces.
Here, you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of these natural pools, formed thousands of years ago and surrounded by rainforest, in a much more authentic and peaceful setting. Beyond the experience itself, your visit also has a positive impact, as it directly contributes to the livelihoods of local families and to the care of these stunning ecosystems.
A perfect day combining history, flavor, and nature: explore the majesty of Uxmal, marvel at the authentic local cuisine with traditional salbutes and panuchos, and cool off in cenotes tucked away in the midst of the rainforest.
A complete experience that connects you with the essence of Yucatán, supporting local communities while you enjoy unique and unforgettable moments.
