Your guided tour begins in the breathtaking Great Hall, a masterpiece of Gilded Age art and architecture. From a scenic overlook, you'll gaze down upon the magnificent, domed Main Reading Room. We will then visit the very foundation of the modern library: a portion of Thomas Jefferson's original book collection, purchased by the nation after the first library was burned in the War of 1812. Throughout our visit, your guide will explain the library's rich history, its vital role as the largest library on Earth, and how you can access its incredible resources. This is an inspiring journey into a true temple of knowledge and American history.

Inside, you'll discover a world-class museum and research library dedicated to the Bard and his era. The main attraction is the unparalleled collection of William Shakespeare's First Folios. You will get an up-close look at the world's largest gathering of this priceless book—the original 1623 publication that saved 18 of Shakespeare's greatest plays from being lost to history. Beyond these historic treasures, we will marvel at the stunningly intimate and authentic replica of an Elizabethan theatre, a space that truly connects us to the vibrant world of 16th-century London. This stop is a cultural oasis, offering an inspiring look at one of the most influential figures in world literature.
