What you can expect
Our typical Sicilian dinner is a real journey into the most authentic flavors, aromas, and traditions of historic Palermo, an experience that involves all the senses and tells the story of the city's popular and noble soul. The setting makes it even more evocative: a typical Palermo outdoor restaurant, overlooking Piazza Indipendenza, one of the most important and symbolic squares in Palermo, right under the ancient royal walls of the Palace, where history and everyday life have met for centuries.
Dinner kicks off with a rich selection of traditional Palermo appetizers, a symbol of surf-and-turf cuisine. Sarde a beccafico, scented with citrus fruits, pine nuts, and raisins, tell the story of the encounter between popular taste and aristocratic influences. Soft and tasty sardine patties elevate a humble ingredient, turning it into excellence. There's no shortage of fresh, simple, and genuine potatoes, and caponata, the undisputed queen of the Sicilian table, with its perfect balance of sweet and sour, fried eggplant, celery, olives, and capers.
For the first course, guests can choose from great classics that represent the city's culinary identity: pasta with sardines, Palermo's signature dish, with wild fennel, pine nuts, and raisins; pasta with anchovies and a muddica atturrata, where simplicity becomes intense flavor thanks to toasted bread; or the sumptuous baked pasta, rich and enveloping, emblematic of Sicilian holidays and Sundays.
The main courses celebrate the sea and the local culinary tradition: a fragrant, golden, and light squid fry; stuffed squid, prepared according to family recipes; tender and tasty swordfish; and breaded and fragrant Palermo-style veal, a symbol of land cuisine.
To end the dinner, the iconic desserts of Sicily: the sumptuous cassata, the classic cannolo with fresh ricotta or a refreshing gelato, for a finale that celebrates sweetness and tradition.
All this is accompanied by live Sicilian music, played right next to the tables: tarantellas, folk songs, and traditional melodies engage guests, creating a convivial and festive atmosphere, where the audience becomes an integral part of the experience. An authentic evening of taste, music, and history in the beating heart of Palermo.
