What you can expect

Guide will meet you at your pickup address in Tbilisi, and your tour will begin.

The first destination, located about 40 minutes away, is Jvari Monastery — an ancient temple dating back to the 6th century AD. It stands proudly on a high mountain near the old capital of Georgia, overlooking the breathtaking confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers and the ancient city of Mtskheta.

The monastery attracts thousands of visitors each year with its unique architecture, stunning location, and deep historical and spiritual significance. The name Jvari means “Cross” in Georgian, and it carries a fascinating story that we will share with you during the visit. Since 1994, Jvari Monastery has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, confirming its exceptional cultural importance.

Next, we will continue to the ancient capital of Georgia — Mtskheta, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mtskheta has been inhabited for over 2,600 years and was once the capital of the early Kingdom of Iberia.

During our walk through Mtskheta, we will pass through charming narrow streets filled with souvenir shops, wine tastings, and traditional Georgian sweets. The highlight of our visit will be the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the burial site of Christ’s Robe and one of Georgia’s most sacred places. After exploring the cathedral, you’ll have free time to stroll around, take memorable photos, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this historic town.
