What you can expect

Amidst all the images that pass us by every day, this is a moment when we ourselves leave traces behind.
This is possible in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the capital.
Surrounded by the six-lane Bismarckstraße and Otto-Suhr-Allee, lies a quiet refuge: the Ackerhaus, built in 1723, one of the oldest town houses in Charlottenburg. Those who cross its threshold leave the noise of the city and the pressures of everyday life behind. Here, time seems to flow more slowly—and the senses begin to perceive more intensely.
The Ackerhaus is a place where art, music, and history interweave to create a rich, sensual experience. In this special course, you can experience this lively symbiosis firsthand.
For within centuries-old walls, among historical artifacts, sculptures, and musical instruments, you can still feel the breath of earlier centuries. Where ox carts once rattled, hay bales rolled through the hallway, and ham was smoked in the “black kitchen,” where beyond the threshold there was no traffic or car noise, but cabbage, potatoes, and grain grew.
During the course, I will take you on a short guided tour through the history of this house, telling you about its everyday life, its transformations, and the experiences it has preserved despite the passing centuries. In between, you can paint or draw. Completely free, without guidelines or pressure to perform. If you like, I can also give you tasks and suggestions. What counts is not technique, but perception. You can leave your own mark on paper or canvas – in resonance with this house, its stories, its sounds, its light.
In between, when it suits, I will tell little anecdotes and details from the history of Berlin and this house, so that history and the present, thought and action, intertwine. Often, at this moment, images arise that are less a reflection than an echo: of atmospheres, feelings, memories that rise up in us through the walls.
As a highlight, you will experience a short live violin concert with music from the time when the house was built. The ancient melodies and motifs then fill the rooms and conclude the journey through time with a soundtrack that lingers long after.
This is no longer a “course,” but a premium experience.
It is something for people who are looking for something special and intimate, far away from mass tourism, something completely authentic, small, real—not consumption, but a deep immersion.
A moment of pause, when everything becomes still—except your own creativity.
A rare, deep sip from the source of inspiration, the source of Hippocrene.
