Lake Minnewanka
  • 30m
  • Admission ticket included
Lake Minnewanka is a large, glacial lake located just a few minutes from the town of Banff, inside Banff National Park,. It is the longest and second-deepest lake in the park. The name comes from the Stoney Nakoda people and means “Lake of the Spirits.” - Surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks and dense forests, the lake is known for: - Scenic boat cruises — the only lake in Banff where motorized boats and guided cruises operate. - Shoreline hiking — including the Lake Minnewanka Trail along steep cliffs and turquoise water. - Picnic areas & wildlife — popular for bighorn sheep, deer, and sometimes bears. - Underwater ghost town — Divers visit submerged remains of the old Minnewanka village, flooded when the dam was expanded in 1941. - Beautiful turquoise water — fed by glacial runoff, giving it its signature colour. It’s one of the easiest major lakes to access from Banff and stays open to visitors early and late in the season compared to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise.
Two Jack Lake
  • 30m
  • Admission ticket included
Two Jack Lake is a small, serene, turquoise lake located just a short drive from the town of Banff in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Known for its calm waters and close-up views of Mount Rundle, it is one of the most peaceful and photogenic lakes in the park. The lake is popular for: - Picnicking and relaxing — quiet shoreline areas with beautiful mountain scenery. - Paddleboarding & kayaking — extremely calm water, ideal for beginners. - Photography — sunrise reflections of Mount Rundle are especially famous. - Camping — nearby Two Jack Lakeside and Two Jack Main campgrounds offer some of the best lakeside camping in Banff. - Wildlife viewing — elk, deer, and birdlife often appear around the lake. - Compared to larger lakes like Minnewanka and Louise, Two Jack Lake offers a more intimate and peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for gentle outdoor activities or relaxing by the water.
Castle Mountain
  • 15m
Castle Mountain is one of Banff National Park’s most iconic and visually striking peaks. Located between the towns of Banff and Lake Louise, it rises dramatically above the Bow Valley, known for its unique tiered, fortress-like cliffs that resemble the walls and towers of a medieval castle — which is how it earned its name. Key features and highlights: - Distinctive “castle” shape — massive horizontal ledges and vertical pillars create a natural stone fortress. - Visible from the Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A) — one of the best viewpoints in Banff. - Rock climbing & mountaineering — advanced routes lead to Eisenhower Tower, the peak’s best-known summit. - Historical significance — the mountain was renamed “Mount Eisenhower” for a period after WWII, before being restored to Castle Mountain (Eisenhower Tower kept the name). - Popular viewpoints — the Castle Junction area and the Bow River offer postcard-perfect views.

The lake reaches peak colour from late June to late August, when glacial melt is strongest. Highlights and features: - The Rockpile Viewpoint — the iconic postcard vantage point overlooking the lake and Ten Peaks. - Canoeing — rental canoes allow visitors to paddle across some of the clearest, bluest water in the Rockies. - Hiking — trails such as the Lakeshore Trail and Larch Valley–Sentinel Pass begin here. - Wildlife — the surrounding area is habitat for bears, marmots, pikas, and many alpine birds. - Access restrictions — It opens between June to October every year. Lake Louise Ski Area Ltd
  • 1h

Lake Louise Ski Resort rises out of the heart of Banff National Park like a vast white amphitheater carved into the Canadian Rockies. From the moment you step off the gondola, the world opens into sweeping bowls, jagged summits, and an endless horizon of snow-laden peaks. The air is crisp and dry, carrying that clean alpine silence that makes everything feel bigger, wilder, and more ancient. The front side of the mountain is a wide, sunlit expanse of long groomers that glide down toward a cozy base lodge, offering inviting runs for beginners and effortless cruising for intermediates. But it’s the backside that gives Lake Louise its legendary character: immense shadowed bowls spilling into deep natural terrain, where experts thread through gullies, chutes, and perfectly spaced glades. Each lift reveals another perspective—shimmering glaciers in the distance, storm-scoured ridgelines above, and dark spruce forests below.
