Day 1: Arrival & Nocturnal Wildlife

Begin your experience with a guided night walk around the village and nearby trails, focused on nocturnal wildlife. Depending on natural conditions, you may spot frogs, insects, reptiles, birds, and occasionally mammals.

During this walk, mobile phones, cameras, electronic devices, and white light are allowed. Photos can be taken responsibly while learning about nocturnal ecosystems. This activity is relaxed, educational, and suitable for all ages.

Day 2: National Park & Conservation Experience

Start early with a canoe safari through the canals of Tortuguero National Park, scheduled during the most active time of day for wildlife. The canoe is mainly non-motorized; however, a quiet electric motor may be used when necessary to assist navigation while minimizing disturbance.

Possible sightings include monkeys, sloths, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

Continue with a guided walk along the Jaguar Trail inside Tortuguero National Park, focusing on rainforest ecology, medicinal plants, animal tracks, and conservation education. The walk follows a relaxed pace on mostly flat terrain and is suitable for all ages.

In the evening (July 1st to October 30th), take part in a strictly regulated green turtle conservation night walk. The tour schedule (8:00–10:00 PM or 10:00 PM–12:00 AM) is assigned through an official electronic lottery organized by Tortuguero National Park and cannot be chosen in advance.

Strict conservation rules apply: no mobile phones, cameras, smartwatches, or electronic devices are allowed. Only red light is permitted. No flashes, screens, or recordings of any kind.

The nesting beach is divided into 60 official conservation sectors, with Tortuguero village located around sector 30. Turtle activity varies naturally along the beach, and each night offers different observation conditions shaped entirely.
