What you can expect

Join a unique Japanese tea ceremony experience that combines authentic tradition with a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

While traditional tea ceremonies can feel very ceremonial and formal, this experience focuses on making tea culture approachable, interactive, and enjoyable for everyone.

Meet your bilingual Japanese host in a spacious tea room and begin by choosing a beautiful yukata to wear for photos. Yukata can be worn comfortably over your clothes.

Next, you’ll create traditional Japanese sweets (wagashi) which represent sakura (you can choose an original symbol too) together with your host. During the experience, you’ll also play a traditional tea guessing game and learn about Japanese culture in a playful way.

Afterward, your host will introduce the tools and rituals of Japanese tea ceremony and teach you how to prepare matcha yourself using traditional techniques. You’ll practice making tea so you can feel like the host of your own tea ceremony.

Throughout the experience, you’ll learn about the history of tea culture while enjoying conversation and a friendly cultural exchange.

This activity is perfect for travelers who want to experience Japanese tea ceremony traditions without the pressure of a strict or formal setting.
