We will meet at a park near the sumo stable, where your guide will explain the tour schedule, rules, and proper manners for watching the training. You will also receive printed materials about sumo to use during the tour. This is also when the guide will give a brief overview of sumo history and basic rules, so listening carefully will help you enjoy the morning practice even more.

You will observe morning sumo training at the stable for about two hours, with opportunities to take photos. After the practice, male participants will have a 30-minute hands-on sumo experience with the wrestlers. You’ll learn how to perform the traditional shiko (foot stomping) and even have a mock match with real sumo wrestlers—an experience you can’t find anywhere else. Female participants are not allowed to enter the ring due to tradition, but will receive exclusive sumo-themed gifts not available elsewhere—something special to look forward to! Following that, you’ll enjoy about an hour of chanko (sumo stew) with the wrestlers and the stable master, with plenty of time to ask questions and interact. If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions due to religion, please inform us when booking. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests.
