Join a unique sushi-making experience in Tokyo, hosted in a local home just 7min from Tokyo Station by subway!
Your instructor, Satoshi, is a professionally trained sushi chef and assistant instructor at a well-known sushi academy in Tokyo. He has also led sushi experiences internationally in cities such as London, Paris, and Shanghai, and offers classes in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
In this hands-on experience, you will learn how to make authentic Edomae sushi using traditional techniques. During the session, you will create around 10 pieces of nigiri and one sushi roll, guided step by step by your instructor.
A key feature of this experience is the use of akazu (red vinegar), which gives sushi a deeper, richer flavor and reflects the original style of Edomae sushi rarely found in typical classes.
You will also enjoy a homemade miso soup prepared from fish bones used during the session — a simple but authentic example of how ingredients are respected and fully utilized in Japanese cuisine.
The experience takes place in a small-group setting, allowing for personal guidance and interaction. Beyond sushi-making, you will also discover elements of Japanese food culture, including the use of traditional tableware such as lacquerware and ceramics, as well as practical tips like knife selection and everyday techniques used in Japanese cooking.
Whether you are a first-time visitor or a food enthusiast, this experience offers a deeper and more personal connection to Japanese culinary culture in an intimate and relaxed setting.
All materials and ingredients are provided. Just come and enjoy the experience — and of course, enjoy the sushi you make!
