Authentic Kimono Experience Inside Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden – A Unique Cultural Journey Founded 174 years ago, Kouichi Store is a long-established kimono maker dedicated to preserving and sharing Japan’s rich textile traditions. The experience begins at the historic tea room *Rakuu-tei Kouichi Store*, located inside the serene Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Upon arrival, our staff will guide you through selecting your kimono from a range of seasonal designs. The reception, kimono selection, dressing, and simple hairstyling for women take approximately 60 minutes. Once dressed, you are free to explore the beautiful garden at your own pace in your kimono. Please note that the final kimono return time is 4:00 PM. To enjoy the garden comfortably, we recommend booking an earlier time slot. Our professional dressing team will assist you with everything you need—obi belt, tabi socks, traditional sandals, and a Japanese-style handbag—ensuring a smooth and authentic experience. After your stroll through the picturesque garden, please return to Rakuu-tei Kouichi Store for kimono removal.
