Spend a full day tracing the real-world settings of Initial D, the legendary street-racing anime, on a private tour from Tokyo. You'll travel in a genuine Nissan Skyline R34 — an icon of the same JDM golden age as the series — with an English- and Japanese-speaking driver-guide who knows the story and the roads. It's made for anime fans and car lovers alike. Up to 4 people share one private car.
We pick you up at 8:00 from your hotel in Shibuya, Shinjuku or Minato ward (if you're staying elsewhere, meet us at Shibuya Axsh by Shibuya Station) and head for Gunma. Around 10:00 you'll reach Shibukawa to see the Initial D manhole covers and pick up the collectible manhole cards. At about 10:45 you'll visit the Ikaho Toy, Doll and Car Museum, home to a nostalgic collection of classic cars. At noon you'll stop for a lunch of Mizusawa udon, one of Japan's three great udon noodles.
In the early afternoon (around 13:00) you'll walk the famous stone steps of Ikaho Onsen, then continue the Initial D manhole hunt with plenty of photo stops. Around 15:00 you'll reach Lake Haruna — the model for 'Lake Akina' in the anime — and from about 16:00 your guide will show you the real settings around Mt. Haruna, including the mountain passes that inspired the story's iconic downhill battles. Before heading back, you'll relax with a bath or footbath at Ikaho Onsen around 17:00.
We leave for Tokyo at 18:00 and arrive back at your hotel around 20:00–21:00.
Prefer the purest driver's car? Upgrade to the manual-transmission R34. Everything else stays the same: fully private, up to 4 guests.
Your tour includes the private R34 with a professional driver-guide, hotel pickup and drop-off in Shibuya, Shinjuku and Minato wards, and all expressway tolls and fuel. For a group of 4, the price works out to about ¥55,000 per person. Lunch, onsen bathing and museum admission are paid on the day, so you're free to choose what you like. Times are a guide and may shift with traffic. This is an unofficial fan tour visiting public locations and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Initial D rights holders.
