What You’ll Do

1. Make Your Own Dashi (Japanese Soup Stock) from Scratch
   Kick things off by learning how to make dashi, the base of almost every Japanese meal. Made from ingredients like kombu (kelp) and katsuobushi (bonito flakes), this savory broth is key to understanding Japanese taste profiles.

2. Cook Classic Tamagoyaki: Japan’s Beloved Rolled Omelet
   Tamagoyaki is a staple in Japanese lunchboxes—and you'll learn to make it just like Japanese families do. Soft, sweet, and savory, it’s also the main ingredient in a popular Japanese egg sandwich: the Tamagosando!

3. Fry Crispy Japanese Karaage (Fried Chicken)
   Learn how to marinate and fry juicy bite-sized chicken, seasoned with authentic Japanese flavors. This dish pairs beautifully with rice and is one of the most popular bento items for both kids and adults in Japan.
