What you can expect

The Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle emerged in the 14th century as the main residence of the Griffin dynasty, rulers of a powerful Baltic state. Its hilltop above the Oder was perfectly suited for this role. Remarkable international events took place here.
The castle was visited or even hosted for long stays such figures as Queen of France Marie Leszczyńska, Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, wife of the King of Prussia, Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, and Frederick the Great. It was also the birthplace of Sophia of Denmark and Catherine the Great of Russia.
The castle holds many historical mysteries, including the story of Sidonia von Borcke, whose alleged curse in the 17th century is said to have brought about the fall of the ducal dynasty and their state.
Our tour of the castle will last 4 hours.
The tour is available on any weekday, starting no later than 12:00.
