As a not-for-profit, charitable trust, it focuses on breeding and nurturing kiwis in captivity to help boost the population of this endangered species.

The guided one-hour Kiwi Encounter tour offers a unforgettable opportunity to explore this renowned conservation center, learn about the kiwi bird’s struggle for survival, and see how they have successfully hatched over 2,500 kiwi chicks.

Observe the work of the kiwi husbandry team and gain insight into the process of hatching and raising chicks.

Every Kiwi Hatchery tour is a 100% donation to our kiwi hatching program, with all funds directly supporting our conservation efforts. Your support is directly helping save our precious kiwi.
