1005 Broadway Blvd

Guests will begin at the historic Coates House Hotel, one of downtown Kansas City’s most striking reminders of the city’s rise from rough river town to major Midwest destination. Once a grand hotel that welcomed prominent travelers and reflected Kansas City’s growing ambition, the building later became the site of one of the city’s deadliest fires. Here, travelers will hear the legend of the Ghost Bride, look toward the upper windows where figures are still said to appear, and learn why this landmark remains one of Kansas City’s most haunting historic sites.

Travelers will walk through Quality Hill, a quiet historic neighborhood that once represented wealth, status, and influence in early Kansas City. This was where bankers, railroad executives, merchants, attorneys, and political figures built their homes overlooking the growing city below. But behind the polished image of grand houses and social power were the workers, servants, and ordinary people whose names history often left behind.
