Embark on a full-day journey of total immersion in maritime culture, visiting the oyster farms of the Thau Lagoon and the fish auction at the Port d'Agde fishing port.
There, you'll discover the expertise of oyster farmers and fishermen in an authentic setting.
We offer departure from Montpellier in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus, with a small group of no more than 8 people.
PROGRAM:
- 10:00 AM: Departure from Montpellier
- 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Boat trip on the Thau Lagoon, departing from Bouzigues, a charming and peaceful fishing village. We will get close to the oyster and mussel farms to learn how these shellfish are produced.
- 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm: After this appetizer, we will enjoy seafood freshly caught in the lagoon at a producer's restaurant, where we will experience a timeless moment with a magnificent view.
- 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm: We will hit the road again to reach Agde, where we will be welcomed by the local fishermen right in the heart of the fish market. You will be able to watch the catch of the day being unloaded and learn how professionals, fishmongers, and restaurant owners conduct auction purchases.
We'll even get to enjoy a small tasting of the seafood caught that day.
