Day 1: Samarkand – Panjakent – Sarazm – Rudaki Mausoleum – Voru Village – Ruknobod
Meet your driver at your hotel in Samarkand and begin your journey toward the Tajikistan border. After a short drive, arrive at the border crossing and complete immigration procedures before entering Tajikistan. On the Tajik side, meet your local guide and driver and continue toward Panjakent.
Your first stop is the UNESCO-listed archaeological site of Sarazm, one of the oldest settlements in Central Asia, dating back more than 5,000 years. Archaeological discoveries here reveal evidence of early agriculture and ancient trade connections that once linked the region with Persia, South Asia, and beyond.
Continue to the lively Panjakent Bazaar, where you can observe everyday local life and experience Tajik hospitality.
Afterwards, drive into the spectacular Fann Mountains to reach the remote mountain settlement of Voru Village. This fascinating village is dramatically built on steep mountain slopes, where houses are stacked in tiers along the hillside, creating a unique architectural landscape.
After visiting the village, continue a short drive to Ruknobod for dinner and overnight stay in a traditional homestay, where you will experience warm Tajik hospitality and local cuisine.
Day 2: Ruknobod – Seven Lakes – Samarkand
After breakfast, depart for the beautiful Seven Lakes (Haft Kul), a chain of seven alpine lakes located in the Shing River valley.
Each lake has its own color and character, ranging from deep turquoise to emerald green, surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. The area offers excellent opportunities for short walks, photography, and interaction with local villagers living in the valley.
After exploring several of the lakes and enjoying the scenery of the Fann Mountains, begin the return journey toward the Tajik–Uzbek border.
After completing border formalities, meet your Uzbek driver and transfer back to your hotel in Samarkand.
End of tour.
