What you can expect

Welcome to Tahiti Safari Islander,

We will venture into the heart of the island of Tahiti. You'll get to see beautiful mountains, waterfalls, and natural pools.

You will be able to enjoy a beautiful panorama while seated in a new, comfortable, open-top 4x4 equipped with local music in the back. If the weather is nice, we will go swimming in the natural pools, and if it is raining, we can enjoy the many waterfalls. We look forward to helping you discover this Polynesian treasure.

PLEASE NOTE: The road is very rough.
There are 37 kilometers (23 miles) to travel through the mountains. The road is not paved; it is not asphalted. If you don't feel up to it, please choose another, more leisurely tour, such as the Tahiti Island Tour.

For your outing, be sure to bring:

  • Towels
  • Swimming gear
  • Mosquito spray
  • Slippers, flip-flops (no shoes)
  • Raincoats
  • 2 liters of water
  • Your picnic (sandwiches, etc.)

At noon, we will stop at a bakery to buy something to eat and drink (not included).

Tour Itinerary with Tahiti Safari Islander:

8:10 am: Pickup from your hotel
8:40 am: Stop at a bakery or store (meal not included; allow €5 per person)
9:20 am: Departure for the start of the Papenoo Valley
(mountains, trees, waterfalls, stories, legends)
11:30 AM: Picnic and swim stop
12:30 pm: We set off again for the rest of the tour, which includes the caldera, the volcano, the mountains, the waterfalls, the basalt tunnel, and Lake Vaihiria.
3:00 pm: Departure from the valley
3:30 PM: Arrival at your hotel, end of the tour.
