What you can expect
Discover the wonders of the Bronte-Coogee Aquatic Reserve on a private snorkeling tour designed for families. Explore clear, calm waters teeming with vibrant marine life, from friendly blue gropers to shimmering schools of fish and fascinating cuttlefish. With over 600 fish species and diverse marine organisms, Sydney’s underwater world is a treasure trove waiting to be explored.
This family-friendly tour takes place at a prime snorkeling spot near Bondi: Clovelly Beach. This location has calm water and is regularly scouted by our guides to ensure the best routes based on recent marine activity.
This 90-minute tour can accommodate families with children aged 8 years old and up. We understand that kids may have varying comfort levels, so our guides can adjust the pace and activities as needed. If your children want to take a break from the water, we’ll adapt the experience to ensure everyone has a fun and enjoyable time.
Before entering the water, we will talk with you about the area and the marine life we are likely to encounter. Your guide will assist with fitting masks, snorkels, and fins for each family member. We provide child-sized equipment including flotation aids to ensure smaller family members feel comfortable and confident in the water. If you and other adults are feeling more adventurous, we can offer weight belts to enable you to duck dive to get closer to the fish.
As you are watching marine life, such as rays and nudibrachs, your guide will take memorable photos for you to cherish. Your guide knows these waters well and will identify the fish and point out marine life that may be hiding under a rocky reef or a little hidden in the sand.
After your snorkeling adventure, enjoy some downtime at the beautiful Clovelly Beach or Gordons Bay. You can also explore the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk or visit nearby cafés and restaurants. Your guide will provide recommendations to help you make the most of your family day out.
