    Install the free Self Guide App (Android and iPhone), open the link we email you and press Start. The guide then talks by itself: you reach a place and its story begins, and it tells you where to look, on your right or on your left. Between places a podcast about Australia keeps you company.

    The app keeps talking with the screen off and over Google Maps. On Android it puts the guide on your car screen through Android Auto, and the sound goes to the car speakers over Bluetooth.

    No fixed route: walk, drive, cycle or ride the tram. English throughout, and Russian for six of the guides. Written by a Sydney guide since 2006. Mobile data and GPS are required.
