Embark on a scenic self-guided hike through Madeira's highest mountains, reaching an elevation of up to 1862m while enjoying the freedom to hike at your own pace. This adventure includes convenient pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation so you can focus on the breathtaking landscapes surrounding you. Your experience begins with an early morning shuttle service, departing around 6 a.m.(the exact time will be confirmed the day before). You'll be transferred in a shared van (accommodating up to 8 passengers) to Pico do Arieiro, one of Madeira's most famous peaks. Upon arrival, you'll have time to take in the stunning panoramic views and witness a spectacular sunrise at the viewpoint. As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the surrounding mountains, you'll start your hike towards Pico Ruivo, the highest peak on the island. The rocky trail offers diverse, challenging terrain, making it ideal for intermediate hikers. Along the way, you'll be treated to majestic vistas, rugged mountain ridges, and unique flora. You'll finish your trek at Achada do Teixeira, where a shuttle van will be waiting at the designated parking lot (meeting point) to transfer you back to your accommodation.
