On this fascinating tour of the Old Town of Soria, we'll walk through the streets of this small city full of history, poetry, and charm.
We'll begin our tour in the central Plaza de Mariano Granados, from where we'll gradually venture into the heart of the city to learn about its medieval past through the two jewels of Soria's Romanesque architecture: the churches of Santo Domingo, with its imposing portal known as “La Biblia en Piedra”, and San Juan de Rabanera, with its magnificent apse.
We'll travel back to the 16th century, the time of the city's greatest splendor and economic wealth. Proof of this are the Renaissance palaces preserved on Aduana Vieja Street and the greatest marvel of Soria's civil architecture: the Palacio de los Condes de Gómara.
We'll also visit some of the places that inspired Antonio Machado in the city where he spent his happiest years and met the love of his life, as well as the Institute where he taught.
Finally, we'll end our tour in Plaza Mayor, the cradle of Soria's institutions since the 16th century.
