Perkara yang anda boleh jangka

  • Sopot (German: Zoppott) is the smallest of the cities that make up the Polish Tri-City. It borders historic Gdansk on one side and industrial Gdynia on the other. So what role does it play in this organism? It's quite simple, but very important: Sopot is the center of nightlife in the Tri-City! Once upon a time, Sopot was primarily a spa town with 19th-century villas, palaces, and cafes where the country's intellectual and cultural elite spent their vacations. Today, the old style mixes with the modernity and kitsch of the 90s, and Sopot, and especially the so-called Monciak or Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street, is a place where you can meet the stars of Polish culture, the crème de la crème of society, and the richest Poles flaunting their wealth. This 600-meter-long promenade is full of sophisticated restaurants and modern clubs, alongside which you can still find the old intellectual cafés and pubs. It ends with the most important thing in Sopot – the longest wooden pier in the world. But Sopot is not just about glamor, parties, and fun. It is also about beautiful architecture and a great deal of history. Adolf Hitler stayed at the Sopot Grand Hotel before the war, and French President Charles de Gaulle stayed there after the war. Who knows, maybe they stayed in the same room?

During our tour, we will see Monciak with its most famous buildings – both old and new, such as the symbol of postmodern madness – the Krzywy Domek (Crooked House). We'll take a look at what you can find when you turn into one of the side streets, stroll among the beautiful palaces and villas, and find out why the prices for apartments in Sopot are the highest in Poland. We will also see the most famous Polish bear – Corporal Wojtek! You will hear scandalous stories about artists partying at SPATiF and also about local wars between the city and the church over… a public restroom. Of course, we will also show you the best places to have a drink. We can't miss that; after all, Sopot is the party city on the Polish coast!

During the tour, we will see:

Monciak – the city's main street

    Krzywy Domek (Crooked House)

SPATiF (Club of the Association of Polish Theater and Film Artists and the Association of Polish Visual Artists)

The Fountain of Johnny the Fisherman

The monument to Wojtek the bear

    Grand Hotel

    The Sopot Pier

    and much more!
