Venture out across the red sands of the desert to discover the impressive feat of engineering that is the Hoover Dam—the highest structure of its kind in the world. Learn about the history and construction of the dam, and take in sweeping views over the blue waters of Lake Mead.
After you're picked up from your hotel, leave the bright lights and crowds of the Strip behind as you ride across the desert with your small group toward the winding ribbon of the Colorado River. Arrive at the Hoover Dam and set off to explore the site with your guide. Learn about the complex design, intricate construction, and features of this 100-year-old structure, which was built to withstand the harsh elements of the desert while retaining the vast waters of the Colorado River thus creating Lake Mead. One of the worlds largest man made lakes.
Admire the view from the top of the dam, snapping photos of the arched span of the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. On your way back to Las Vegas, we detour to a beautiful little park, where you have an opportunity to observe herds of wild Bighorn Sheep grazing on the sweet grass. It's really cool!
