One of the most beloved animals of our country is the popular sloth. This animal captivates us with its tenderness and peculiar slow behavior. We cannot deny that we have envied their pace at sometime in our own lives.

The La Fortuna area is a unique place when it comes to sloths. Our climate, protection, availability of food, and the essential absence of predators make this privileged property an amazing natural oasis. You have the option of enjoying the activity in the morning at 8:00 a.m., in the afternoon at 2:30 p.m., or at 5:30 p.m., as a night walk. The 2-toed sloths are more active at night.

We will pick you up at your hotel at the reserved time to begin this exciting journey to Sloth Territory, located within a small family ecological project just 5 minutes from La Fortuna. The project has a 1.5 km (1 mi) trail that is suitable for adults, families, and children of all ages. The tour of approximately 2 hours will take us through amazing flora, alongside a river bordering the property, and of course to the Guarumo trees; the favorite food of these emblematic animals.

We must remember that the sloth is a solitary animal and that most of its time it is sleeping or resting in the treetops. During the tour, you can observe two types of sloths: Two-toed sloth and the three-toed sloth. If we are lucky we will be able to observe a mother with her baby; a thrilling experience.
