After the Ottomans captured Lesendro in 1843, Njegoš made several unsuccessful attempts to reclaim it, inspiring the famous Montenegrin saying, “He longs for it like the Bishop longs for Lesendro,” a phrase still used today to describe someone who deeply desires something that remains out of reach. The cruise then continues along the Morača River, offering views of Vranjina, the largest island on Skadar Lake.
