The infinite beauty of the largest lake in the Balkans will be at your disposal thanks to a cruise on Skadar Lake National Park and a panoramic lunch in the most charming fortress in Montenegro called Besac located in Virpazar.

The tour is private and takes in total half a day (approximately 5 hours). The departure starts from Podgorica with a car or van and your designated guide (multilingual options available) will pick you up at your preferred meeting point. He will drive to Virpazar where the cruise starts. The boat tour takes 2 hours during which your guide will tell you everything about the most renowned places of this immense lake connecting two countries, Montenegro and Albania.

You will sail towards the North side of the Lake close by Rijeka Crnojevica and pass by the Lesendro Fortress, located near the village of Vranjina. The fortress was built in the 18th century during the Ottoman Empire. When Peter II Petrović-Njegoš conquered the fortress, it was used to enforce the defense of the Montenegrin territory from the possible Turkish attacks. The cruise will proceed with the sail of River Moraca where you will admire the wildlife, the birds and the stunning nature that will leave you really impressed.

Once the cruise is finished you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic lunch in the exclusive Besac Fortress, where the history and food meet each other. A magic atmosphere, a wonderful view of Skadar Lake, the perfect setting, the local vibe all paired with a true Montenegrin excellence. The Fortress Besac, today an evocative place, is dated back to the XV century during the Ottoman Empire. At the end of 17 century Montenegrins occupied Besac. The struggles for theconquest are described in the most famous epic written by Petar II Petrovic Njegos, called in local language “Gorski Vjenac” that means “The Mountain Wreath”.

After lunch your guide will drive you back to Podgorica.
