Set off on a journey through Southern Transylvania, departing from Cluj at 8:30 a.m..

Our first stop is the medieval fortress of Sighisoara, one of the last inhabited citadels in Europe. Encircled by nine original defence towers, the fortress boasts stunning medieval architecture and captivating legends, including those of Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for Dracula. Wander its colourful streets, climb the Covered Staircase to the Church on the Hill and, for a panoramic view, ascend the Clock Tower.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll journey through the rolling hills and charming villages of the Tarnava region, famous for its high-acid, aromatic white wines. Influenced by the Tarnava River and shaped by Saxon settlers, this area remains a hub for Romanian viticulture, producing exceptional Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala and Riesling. During our wine tasting, we’ll sample three distinct wines, perfectly paired with palate cleansers to enhance the experience.

We’ll return to Cluj in the evening, enriched by the history, flavours and medieval charm of Transylvania.
