This day includes 2 via ferrata climbs - the practice wall (75' tall) and Shorty Town™ loop on the 450' canyon wall of Eye of the Needle™. A 2.5 mile drive on backcountry roads to a remote cabin begins the day. Hike an adventure trail complete with chains and moki steps, along a flowing-water canyon to the practice wall. 60-90 min. of instruction and practice climbing up and down 2 routes ensures safe travel on Shorty Town™. Successful demonstration of safe gear operation is necessary to climb the big wall. It's a short walk from the practice wall to the rim of Eye of the Needle™. Clip in, sit back and get lowered to a platform where you'll start your climb on Shorty Town™. This excursion includes 500' elevation change over .5 miles to and from the Eye of the Needle™ rim. A reasonable level of physical fitness is needed. The day occurs in stages. Some hike, complete the practice wall and just observe their group members from the balcony. This is always an option for you if you want to give it a try, but don't want to commit to the height of the main wall. Participants must be able to learn the 10 basic rules of gear operation and be responsible for their own safety gear.
