Perkara yang anda boleh jangka

  • Embark on a scenic hike through the stunning landscapes of Kenai Fjords National Park. This 2.2-mile loop trail offers an easy to moderate hiking experience, winding through a glaciated forest filled with tall spruce, cottonwood, and birch trees. Along the way, you'll encounter dated terminal moraines of Exit Glacier and, if you're lucky, spot wildlife such as moose, bears, and mountain goats.

Your knowledgeable guide will share insights about the local flora and fauna, geology, and the history of Seward, making frequent stops to ensure you can catch your breath and take in the surroundings. You'll hike along the river that flows under Exit Glacier, which provides unique views of glacial cut valleys and hidden glaciers on the mountain tops.

The hike gains almost 250 feet in elevation over a little more than a mile, making it accessible for most hikers. The trail includes sections of blacktop, gravel, and a narrow beam bridge crossing a small drainage. Be prepared for potential wildlife encounters, as Alaska is bear country. Your guide is equipped with bear spray, a first aid kit, and a SAT phone or InReach device for safety.

The hike concludes with a return to the starting point, where you can capture memorable photos at the Kenai Fjords National Park sign or visit the Exit Glacier Nature Center (open until early September).
