What you can expect
Begin your journey at Cheonggye Plaza in Gwanghwamun. Start at the iconic “Spring” shell sculpture and enjoy a relaxing stroll along the water. Cross the stepping stones and enjoy the unique harmony between Seoul’s modern skyscrapers and the natural stream.
Walk along the stream to reach Gwangjang Market at Jongno 5-ga. To save room for Hanwoo later, try light snacks like Mung Bean Pancakes (Bindaetteok) or Mayak Gimbap. Immerse yourself in the energy of a 100-year-old traditional market and its famous textile district.
Just a short walk from Gwangjang Market is Pyeonghwa Market, a hub for clothing and fashion. Explore the Secondhand Bookstore Alley and the nearby DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) to see the evolution of Korean fashion.
Head over to the Seoul Folk Flea Market located in Sinseol-dong. Known as Korea's representative flea market, it is filled with rare antiques and nostalgic vintage items. Visit the “Youth Avenue” theme zone on the 2nd floor, which recreates Seoul's streets from the 1960s and 70s—perfect for photos.
End your day at the Majang Meat Market, the highlight of this tour. As Korea's largest livestock market, you can find the highest quality Hanwoo at very reasonable prices. Choose your preferred cuts (such as Ribeye, Flap Tail, or Thick Skirt) directly from a butcher shop, then take them to a nearby “table-setting restaurant” to grill them on the spot. Many shops offer complimentary beef sashimi (Yuksamgyeop) or beef tartare (Yukhoe), so be sure to check.
