The journey begins at the little harbor of San Leone, a charming little harbor near the city of Agrigento. As you set sail, you'll feel the warm Mediterranean breeze and witness the sun casting its golden glow on the shimmering waters.
Leaving the harbor, we will sail along the “Costa del Mito”, admiring from the sea the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento, the bay of Kaos where Pirandello's birthplace stands, the coast of Marinella with the ruins of Villa Romana and then ending near the Scala dei Turchi.
As you approach Scala dei Turchi, the distinctive white limestone cliffs come into view. The contrast between the dazzling white rock and the deep blue sea creates a breathtaking scene. The cliffs are shaped by natural erosion, forming a unique staircase-like structure that descends into the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean.
Finding a suitable spot, we will drop anchor in the azure waters near Scala dei Turchi. The boat gently sways with the rhythm of the sea as you take in the beauty of the surroundings.
After securing the boat, you may choose to explore Scala dei Turchi by SUP (Stand Up Padle) untill the beach, or by swim.
As the day unfolds, you savor the tranquility of the surroundings.
Around midday, setting up a small dining area on the deck of the boat, you will lay out a light and refreshing spread. A crisp, white tablecloth dances in the breeze, and the table is adorned with colorful plates, fresh fruits, salads, and some local Sicilian specialties.
To complement the meal, we will offer a selection of refreshing beverages such as chilled white or rosé wine, sparkling water, or freshly squeezed citrus juices. The clinking of glasses adds to the convivial atmosphere as you and your companions enjoy the maritime dining experience.
Surrounded by the azure waters of the Mediterranean and the coastal beauty of Sicily, the lunch spot provides a picturesque backdrop. The limestone cliffs or the open sea may stretch out before you, creating a serene and idyllic setting for your midday light lunch.
The light lunch features a variety of flavors, incorporating local ingredients and specialties. You will founf some Sicilian olives, cheeses and cured meats, along with a selection of artisanal bread. Fresh salads with tomatoes, basil, and olive oil add a touch of Mediterranean freshness.
As you enjoy the delicious food and the company of your fellow sailors, the atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried.
After the light lunch, there's time for relaxation. Some may choose to lounge on the deck, basking in the sun, while others might take a refreshing dip in the clear waters surrounding the boat.
As the day comes to a close, you set sail for the return journey to San Leone. The setting sun paints the sky with hues of orange and pink, creating a magical atmosphere on the water. The evening sail back to the little harbor of San Leone provides a peaceful and enchanting conclusion to this memorable sailing journey.
