What you can expect

Embark on a guided tour to the Ainu Cultural Center and the hot spring village of Jozankei. Learn about the Ainu people, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, and relax in a hot spring bath at the end of the day.

Meet your guide at Sapporo Station and head to the Ainu Cultural Center. Learn about the lifestyle, history, and art of the Ainu people, the indigenous people who first settled Hokkaido and developed a unique culture.

This facility is the first of its kind in Japan to focus on the original inhabitants and allows visitors to feel, touch, and experience traditional Ainu craftworks made by Ainu artisans.

After leaving the Ainu Cultural Center, head to the nearby hot spring village of Jozankei. Located within the lush green Shikotsu-Toya National Park, this area is characterized by topography and phenomena created by hundreds of years of volcanic activity.

Explore the area with your guide and see all the popular sights that Jozankei has to offer. Visit the Jozankei Shrine and Temple, Gesen Park and footbath, Futami Park, and the Futami Tsuribashi Suspension Bridge.

Conclude your tour with a relaxing hot spring bath at the Hotel Shika no Yu. Enjoy a 2-hour day-bath experience and learn about the rules and bathing etiquette that must be adhered to. After a rejuvenating hot bath, return to Sapporo and conclude your tour.
