The Cape Verde islands host the second biggest community of Loggerhead turtle in the world, however, in this expedition you’ll be given the opportunity to swim with Green turtles, which it’s an experience that will be remembered for life. This is possible thanks to a group of local fishermen who started feeding them in the past for several months; creating a relationship between them and people which successfully improved their population with protection and food provided mainly from the local fishermen community of São Pedro.
This whole trip will take around 3 hours, we’ll collect you from your hotel/residential, heading out to São Pedro’s village where the instructor will be waiting with all the snorkelling equipment ready for you. As safety is always priority, a briefing with all instructions will be provided before we jump on the fishermen’s boat for the adventure.
In a few minutes the turtle spot is reached and it is finally time to jump into the water to play with this magnificent creature in his natural habitat.
In some places in the world, fishermen are the bad guys, but here they did an amazing job creating this extraordinary experience between turtles and humans.
