What you can expect

Day 1: Santa Marta to La Momposina

Depart from Santa Marta in a 4x4 vehicle and head to Bonda, a region rich in history and tradition. Visit the ancient chapel of Santa Ana, founded in 1534, and the Indigenous Monument to learn about the legacy of the Tayrona culture, the ancestral guardians of the Sierra Nevada.

Continue to Piedras de Donama, a sacred place full of mysticism and natural beauty. After a 30-minute drive, enter this magical territory, recognized by indigenous peoples as “the heart of the world,” an ideal space to reconnect with the energy of nature.

Stop in the La Lisa area to enjoy a refreshing swim in a natural pool and savor a typical regional lunch. Then, begin a hike of approximately 8 kilometers (3 hours) through forests and coffee plantations, with panoramic views of the mountainous landscape.

Cross a small river until you reach, at sunset, the La Momposina farmhouse, where dinner and accommodation in simple bunks await you, surrounded by coffee plantations and mountains.

Day 2: Bunkuany

Start the day with a country breakfast made with fresh, local products from the farm. Then, begin a hike of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (7 km) through the Bunkuany–Tayrona ecological corridor, surrounded by forests, natural viewpoints, and traditional farms.

Pause at El Mirador el Jardín, a stop where you can rest and enjoy a snack before continuing the journey. An hour later, arrive at the ancestral terraces of Bunkuany, a sacred site of connection with Mother Earth, where you will learn about its history and spiritual significance.

Afterward, walk about 15 minutes to the La Esperanza restaurant, where a typical lunch prepared with local ingredients awaits you. Continue the trail for 1 hour and 45 minutes to the La Playita farm, where you will stay in a rustic cabin surrounded by nature.

Relax by the Arcoíris waterfall and swim in its refreshing natural pool. End the day with a quiet dinner under the sound of the river and the forests of the Sierra Nevada.

Day 3: Teyku

After breakfast, begin a hike of approximately 5 kilometers through mountain trails to the town of Calabazo. From there, continue the ascent for 3 kilometers to the Kogui village of Teyku (this section can be done on foot or by motorcycle, depending on the traveler's preference).

In Teyku, enjoy a typical lunch and experience a unique experience by sharing with the Kogui community, ancestral guardians of the Sierra Nevada. Learn about their worldview, their connection with nature, and their role as protectors of the sacred territory.

Also, have the opportunity to participate in a symbolic ceremony of cleansing and gratitude to Mother Earth, a moment of harmony and spiritual reconnection. At the end, descend back to Calabazo (approximately one hour of walking), where you will take the return transport to the hotel.
