Experience the beautiful underwater world of Sal on this guided snorkeling tour in Santa Maria. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, explore some of the area’s best snorkeling spots, including reefs near Farol and the Bay of Santa Maria, chosen according to the day’s conditions.
Meet your guides at the dive center, where you’ll be fitted with snorkeling equipment and complete the necessary paperwork. Before heading out, you’ll receive a safety briefing, an overview of the rules, and basic snorkeling instructions, including how to use the equipment properly.
Travel by boat to the selected snorkeling location and enter the water directly above the reef. Begin exploring the underwater environment and immerse yourself in this exciting marine world. Keep an eye out for a variety of species such as tropical fish, rays, moray eels, and, if conditions allow, turtles during this approximately two-hour experience.
The Bay of Santa Maria is known for its generally good underwater visibility and rich marine biodiversity. Depending on conditions, you may also encounter areas where schools of fish such as soldier fish, snappers, parrot fish, and trumpet fish are commonly found. On some days, a shallow wreck may be visible at the end of the reef, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Please note that snorkeling takes place in an open marine environment. Weather conditions, sea state, visibility, and the presence of marine life may vary and are beyond the operator’s control. While the guides always select the safest locations and the best possible conditions on the day of the tour, specific marine life sightings, water clarity, or access to particular sites cannot be guaranteed.
By booking this activity, guests acknowledge the natural and unpredictable nature of the ocean.
After the tour, return to the dive center and enjoy the rest of your day in Santa Maria.
