What you can expect
Your sweet adventure through Santa Fe begins just steps from the historic Santa Fe Plaza at a charming local café surrounded by adobe architecture, art galleries, and the unmistakable atmosphere of “The City Different.” Here, you'll enjoy delicious filled beignets and fresh coffee while learning about Santa Fe's world-famous art scene and the unique blend of Native American, Spanish, and Anglo cultures that define the city today.
From there, we'll stroll toward the iconic Santa Fe Plaza, the cultural and historic heart of the city since 1610. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the Palace of the Governors, local legends, and the fascinating history behind Santa Fe's distinctive Pueblo-style architecture. Once in the Plaza, you'll have time to soak in the mountain views, vibrant energy, and centuries of history that make Santa Fe unlike anywhere else in the United States.
Our next stop introduces you to another beloved local spot where you'll sample traditional New Mexican sweets, including the famous biscochito, New Mexico's official state cookie. You'll also discover how local flavors like piñon and chile have become part of Santa Fe's thriving café and culinary culture.
Continuing through historic Burro Alley, once a lively trading route filled with merchants and pack burros carrying firewood into town, we'll visit a hidden local bakery to enjoy one of Santa Fe's most iconic savory-sweet creations: a flaky green chile croissant. This local favorite perfectly captures the city's culinary spirit, blending classic French pastry techniques with the unmistakable flavor of New Mexico's beloved green chile. It's a delicious reminder that Santa Fe's food scene is as creative and unexpected as the city itself.
Along the route, we'll also pass the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and discuss how Santa Fe's stunning landscapes inspired one of America's most celebrated artists and helped shape the city into the artistic hub it is today.
We'll finish our experience at a colorful local café known for its incredible fresh-made churros and homemade dipping sauces. It's the perfect sweet ending to a fun, flavorful, and unforgettable journey through the heart of downtown Santa Fe.
