Begin your adventure with a pickup from your meeting point in San Pedro de Atacama. Head south and travel for about half an hour to reach a canyon crossed by a hot water river.
Arrive at the Puritama Hot Springs, a series of seven pools located along the river at the bottom of the canyon, at the foot of the Andes. Once you enter the facilities, enjoy three hours of free time to relax in the thermal baths.
The hot waters of Puritama reach 33.5 degrees Celsius and are rich in minerals such as magnesium, sodium, lithium, and potassium. The Atacameño people have used these thermal baths since before the Spanish conquest, and they are traditionally recommended for treating rheumatism, arthritis, and muscle fatigue.
The site is equipped with wooden walkways that connect the eight natural pools, as well as facilities such as bathrooms and picnic areas, allowing you to relax and enjoy the soothing properties of the Puritama hot springs.
After recharging and relaxing, begin your return journey and arrive back at the small square in the center of San Pedro de Atacama four and a half hours after departure.
